Birds: Three Line Tales Week 91

Jarrod enticed the birds with the poisoned biscuit. Rumour had it the stones would topple if the birds departed. Soon he’d know. The birds came, talons cutting, beaks pecking, wings flapping but none ate. The only departure was Jarrod as he ran bleeding.

7 day 7 photograph challenge: Day 6

“Seven days. Seven black and white photos of your life. No people. No explanation. Challenge someone new each day”. I was challenged by Rebel Guy.  This is not as easy as it seems. Photos that tell of your life without people is not as easy as it sounds. Day 5 it seems was difficult to get the me from it. I will explain later today for any that are interested. Back I think to less abstraction. For those that know me let me know if you think the photo tells of me for those that don’t know me so well let me know what you think I am trying to pass on about my life.

Walking on Water: Friday Fictioneers

Screen Shot 2017-10-25 at 5.44.14 PM

photo prompt by Roger Bultot

“I’m going to the ampitheatre.” Bhoudi stamped her foot. “I have to, if I’m to be saved.”

“We should go with her. What if the end of the world is nigh?” Bhoudi smiled her thanks to her mother. She didn’t expect the appocalypse but she did want to see Krishnamurti, walk on water. She looked at her father.

“Alright. We’ll all go.” They walked to the river and joined the throng of Theophisists chanting and praying in the temple. The non-believers mocked.

Suddenly the water smoothed. A mushroom cloud rolled in. The insults stopped. Bhoudi smiled. “Krishnamurti! I am saved.”

For other Friday Fictioneers

Historical note: Krishnamurti severed his ties with Theosophy in the 1920s and Theosophosists deny they ever expected him to enter Sydney Harbour walking on water. My Auntie Bhoudi, a theosophist, joined the throngs down by the harbour waiting for him to arrive.

Fjordland New Zealand is as spectacular as the fjords in Norway although the ones in Norway seemed to be more populated with people than those in New Zealand.

I was very grateful that I had bought a jacket. Despite my long sleeved vests it was freezing despite being summer.

In New Zealand there are still old jalopies getting around. This one though was souped up a little.

Back in Australia the alternate name for the kookaburra is the laughing jackass. These three weren’t laughing but posed nicely for me.

A tree, the jacaranda, which originates in South Africa grows well in subtropical Australia. The city of Grafton is lined with these trees and has an annual jacaranda festival. As the petals drop and turn to sludge the kids have fun running and sliding on them. I know, I used to do it.

It is the jasmine you are looking at in this photo but perhaps jackaroo and jillaby the kangaroos that are most likely wallabies are of more interest.
