Fjordland New Zealand is as spectacular as the fjords in Norway although the ones in Norway seemed to be more populated with people than those in New Zealand.

I was very grateful that I had bought a jacket. Despite my long sleeved vests it was freezing despite being summer.

In New Zealand there are still old jalopies getting around. This one though was souped up a little.

Back in Australia the alternate name for the kookaburra is the laughing jackass. These three weren’t laughing but posed nicely for me.

A tree, the jacaranda, which originates in South Africa grows well in subtropical Australia. The city of Grafton is lined with these trees and has an annual jacaranda festival. As the petals drop and turn to sludge the kids have fun running and sliding on them. I know, I used to do it.

It is the jasmine you are looking at in this photo but perhaps jackaroo and jillaby the kangaroos that are most likely wallabies are of more interest.

About Irene Waters 19 Writer Memoirist
I began my working career as a reluctant potato peeler whilst waiting to commence my training as a student nurse. On completion I worked mainly in intensive care/coronary care; finishing my hospital career as clinical nurse educator in intensive care. A life changing period as a resort owner/manager on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu was followed by recovery time as a farmer at Bucca Wauka. Having discovered I was no farmer and vowing never again to own an animal bigger than myself I took on the Barrington General Store. Here we also ran a five star restaurant. Working the shop of a day 7am - 6pm followed by the restaurant until late was surprisingly more stressful than Tanna. On the sale we decided to retire and renovate our house with the help of a builder friend. Now believing we knew everything about building we set to constructing our own house. Just finished a coal mine decided to set up in our backyard. Definitely time to retire we moved to Queensland. I had been writing a manuscript for some time. In the desire to complete this I enrolled in a post grad certificate in creative Industries which I completed 2013. I followed this by doing a Master of Arts by research graduating in 2017. Now I live to write and write to live.
Only you could meet the challenge of a rather hard letter. I don’t know anyone else who would have so many photos meeting the requirements of the letter J.

I realised that it is a letter we think little of and it took a bit of thinking.

I noticed virtually everybody took photos as it went past so I think we all felt the same.

Maybe there’s a joey in the pouch there too. 🙂

I wouldn’t be surprised. It is spring after all.

Whoops! not the required number of letters. Silly me.

Maybe there was more than one. They usually have two in the pouch at the same time so joeies could fit if you ignored the spelling error.
