“Seven days. Seven black and white photos of your life. No people. No explanation. Challenge someone new each day”. I was challenged by Rebel Guy. This is not as easy as it seems. Photos that tell of your life without people is not as easy as it sounds. For those that know me let me know if you think the photo tells of me for those that don’t know me so well let me know what you think I am trying to pass on about my life.

About Irene Waters 19 Writer Memoirist
I began my working career as a reluctant potato peeler whilst waiting to commence my training as a student nurse. On completion I worked mainly in intensive care/coronary care; finishing my hospital career as clinical nurse educator in intensive care. A life changing period as a resort owner/manager on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu was followed by recovery time as a farmer at Bucca Wauka. Having discovered I was no farmer and vowing never again to own an animal bigger than myself I took on the Barrington General Store. Here we also ran a five star restaurant. Working the shop of a day 7am - 6pm followed by the restaurant until late was surprisingly more stressful than Tanna. On the sale we decided to retire and renovate our house with the help of a builder friend. Now believing we knew everything about building we set to constructing our own house. Just finished a coal mine decided to set up in our backyard. Definitely time to retire we moved to Queensland. I had been writing a manuscript for some time. In the desire to complete this I enrolled in a post grad certificate in creative Industries which I completed 2013. I followed this by doing a Master of Arts by research graduating in 2017. Now I live to write and write to live.
I am not sure but I do love the picture. 🙂

This is on our farm on return from Vanuatu. I can’t post photos of dogs because they really are family but the donkeys were always donkeys.

They were yours? That is so neat. I have seen videos of them rushing up to people and rushing over to lay their head on their shoulder like a hug.

This is no fun! I have read everything in your about page. Truth is I enjoy glimpsing at your life in picture. A picture is worth a thousand words . 🙂 Well maybe not a thousand but pretty darn close.

Haha. I told you I was an open book. I’ll try and shut it for the next 3.

Oops! Left your car back at the corral, have to rely now on the donkeys.
Love the photo, BTW

If only Sharon. That was the plan – or at least for them to carry the wood to the homestead. I would have had more luck training the dog.
