(9 photographs) I have found that in Asia there is much symmetry. Roofs are a good example. These were found in the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh Cambodia

Gates also show a symmetry

As do columns in the ruins of Angkor Wat down to the images carved in the base of them.

Symmetry is also to be seen in Europe particularly in some of the gardens. These were on Isola Bella on Lake Maggiore.

At home there is an element of symmetry but perhaps not quite right. A slight feeling of being off to the side.

In our Ampitheatre in the Noosa Botanical Gardens they symmetry is right except on the left a figure lurks making this too not right.

Apart from being a horrendous photo the computers photo booth has the capability of distortion to such an extent that perfect symmetry is achieved.

Nothing to say about this one apart from symmetrical.

About Irene Waters 19 Writer Memoirist
I began my working career as a reluctant potato peeler whilst waiting to commence my training as a student nurse. On completion I worked mainly in intensive care/coronary care; finishing my hospital career as clinical nurse educator in intensive care. A life changing period as a resort owner/manager on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu was followed by recovery time as a farmer at Bucca Wauka. Having discovered I was no farmer and vowing never again to own an animal bigger than myself I took on the Barrington General Store. Here we also ran a five star restaurant. Working the shop of a day 7am - 6pm followed by the restaurant until late was surprisingly more stressful than Tanna. On the sale we decided to retire and renovate our house with the help of a builder friend. Now believing we knew everything about building we set to constructing our own house. Just finished a coal mine decided to set up in our backyard. Definitely time to retire we moved to Queensland. I had been writing a manuscript for some time. In the desire to complete this I enrolled in a post grad certificate in creative Industries which I completed 2013. I followed this by doing a Master of Arts by research graduating in 2017. Now I live to write and write to live.
Haha! “Mirror” photos. We have that option. It can be very creepy. Love the first few photos.

Gorgeous symmetry – well, maybe the photo booth one…? But it is a stunner!

Thanks Noelle. The photo booth one (and the one of the picture frames) were the only ones that showed true symmetry. But the rest were gorgeous.

Symmetry can be expressed in many ways, each culture having a different display. Asian symmetry is so intricate. Ha, ha! Great photo distortion — looks like a disgruntled fairy godmother!

Too funny of a portrait. All kidding aside the buildings in Cambodia are so intricate.

Grotesque I think is a better word for the portrait. The building in Cambodia (at least where there is wealth and age) are superb.

I haven’t been to Cambodia. The buildings might be similar to Thailand. That’s how far I went in Asian country. As for the portrait, I’ve played with selfie using iPad. Same difference was the result. Tee hee…

Yes it is very similar to Thailand. I’m glad you know from first hand experience that grotesque images are not quite true. LOL

seriously scary, Irene. I recall the Archaeologist doing his dissertation in zoology on asymmetry in mammals and wanting to include page tree of the Sun (which you may know was infamous for its topless young women – thank you Mr Murdoch!) Even back in the sexiest 1970s the tutors thought him inappropriate so he stuck to cows udders.

Haha. These days he would probably be applauded and be given a PhD for it.
