Yellow is the colour of the sun, it brightens the day in so many ways.
In Disney Land yellow is evident and this reflects in the smiles on the faces of the crowd. No-one visiting has come for a bad time but to join in, submerging in the yellow submarines, and joining in the Grand Parade. My highlight for the day was doing a jive in the street with Dick Tracy. I felt like I was on a movie set as the street cleared and a ring of people surrounded us to watch, but he does not fit the challenge as he wasn’t wearing yellow.
High on a hill without the lonely goat-herd a sunny yellow umbrella added bright colour to the magnificent vista we had to look at whilst we sipped on our orange juices.
In other places such as Isola Bella in Lake Maggiore yellow is protective against the gentle rain that fell.
In rooms yellow always brightens sometimes in a surrealistic manner, others
as in the Australian artist’s, Margaret Olley, house comforting colour amongst the clutter. More of her house can be seen here.
Yellow is part of my past history with the cute little me next to the yellow bench
and ticket stubbs that luckily I photographed to remind me of places visited.
Yellow is also the colour of my original mock cover for my manuscript and my final photographs is purely indulgence on my part. This little worm visited me at Jaspers, my breakfast bakery one morning. This gallery if you click on the first photo then click through quickly, as quickly as the scroller will allow and still give clarity, you too will have the pleasure of his movement.

It was a blast. I don’t know how you did it but your comment arrived to me in an appropriate yellow hue. Thanks for visiting.

This post is as fun as the color yellow! Following your suggestion I greatly amused myself in the gallery with your little yellow worm. I’d love to see any photos of you jiving in the street with Dick Tracy, by the way!

Imagine living in the days when all movies were done in this fashion. Judging by the message from WP that my stats were booming I think that perhaps there were a lot of people who played with the worm. A bit of fun .
I have a photo of Dick Tracy but the dancing missed my camera’s lens – I guess I was preoccupied. 🙂

The gardens at Isola Bella were out of this world and the grotto under the castle really let the imagine run wild.

Oh Irene, what an absolutely delightful post, I love everything about it! The worm is so cute, I watched it as you suggested, fascinating! The dinosaur is wonderful and my heart jumped at the Submarine Ride, so very familiar to me as we took the kids to Disneyland at least once a year (the ex’s parents lived in LA and we lived only 4 hours away) for years, and how many memories I have of going on that ride in particular 🙂 And yes, I agree with Charli, would love those pics, and I would pay money to see you doing the jive with Dick Tracey, how amazing! I wonder if you were at Disneyland the same time as us, but I would have remembered that moment if I’d been there that day for sure 😉 Love, love, love adorable you by the yellow bench. Thank you for bringing me so many smiles today my friend >3

An American couple rented a house next to ours when I was very little. When they returned back to the States they sent us a Disney diary. My brother and I poured over the pictures and the two that I loved were the submarines and the Matterhorn. It was such a thrill to have those childhood dreams turn to reality. Your kids must have wonderful memories of the park and going on the rides. My childhood memories were of Lunar Park in Sydney. When we visited our Grandparents for the summer holidays we would always spend one evening at Lunar Park.
Dick Tracey I have found resplendent in a purple suit but not the dancing. I guess I was too busy to take photos.
Thank you for loving adorable me and glad I could give you some smiles. 🙂 ❤

It is wonderful to have those memories isn’t it? Oh yes, the Matterhorn. I went on it once and got so thrown around on it that never again. But the kids loved it 🙂 My favourite were Pirates of the Caribbean, going on it time and time again late at night when the crowds died down 🙂 Your memories of Lunar Park sound so lovely. Haha…purple suit eh? The mind boggles!!! You always make me smile my friend… 🙂 ❤

Yes you can’t help but brighten up when you see yellow. The yellow bench turned red later in life but it didn’t have the same pick me up that it did when yellow.
