Seven Awards in One

A Big Thank you to Sherri who is probably sitting in her summerhouse writing her manuscript or writing one of those posts we love so much or perusing her photographs for just the right one for the memory that has come to mind. I have followed his example on this one though not as creatively. I fine I am not as techno savvy as I would like. .

I cannot on a quick search find the beginnings of this award but I imagine like the 7 awards relating to films it has probably got  its origins from the Magnificent 7 and what a magnificent 7 these are.

The seven in one award means that you have influence on your readers either by creating an emotional response or causing them to think, you shine light on their world and you stay loyal to your blogging mates by visiting them as often as you can. Not only that, this award also means that you are versatile and creative in your blogging  and with the cracking Crispmouse Bloggywog Award it means that you spread one or more of the following – joy, peace hope &/or love.

Wow – and this is what Sherri has nominated me for and I am honoured and humbled to accept.

Seven Things About myself

1. There isn’t a lot that you don’t already know

2. I am heading to my 40th year anniversary of commencing my nursing training next weekend.

3. I’m worried that I have Alzheimer because I don’t recognise a lot of the people that I did my nursing training with.

4. I am glad I am going with a friend because I will know at least one person there

5. I love walking

6. I love taking photographs whilst I’m walking

7. I have horrible feet

I began my working career as a reluctant potato peeler whilst waiting to commence my training as a student nurse. On completion I worked mainly in intensive care/coronary care; finishing my hospital career as clinical nurse educator in intensive care. A life changing period as a resort owner/manager on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu was followed by recovery time as a farmer at Bucca Wauka. Having discovered I was no farmer and vowing never again to own an animal bigger than myself I took on the Barrington General Store. Here we also ran a five star restaurant. Working the shop of a day 7am - 6pm followed by the restaurant until late was surprisingly more stressful than Tanna. On the sale we decided to retire and renovate our house with the help of a builder friend. Now believing we knew everything about building we set to constructing our own house. Just finished a coal mine decided to set up in our backyard. Definitely time to retire we moved to Queensland. I had been writing a manuscript for some time. In the desire to complete this I enrolled in a post grad certificate in creative Industries which I completed 2013. I followed this by doing a Master of Arts by research graduating in 2017. Now I live to write and write to live.

    I love your blog, what a great post Irene, and you are amazing! How do you do your photos in this format with the slideshow thingy? Also how clever of you to create your very own award’s badge. I think you are very techno savvy indeed 🙂 I’m sooooo impressed! I had a little chuckle about me sitting in my summerhouse and yes, I do love those visits, especially from such lovely people like you! You deserve every single one of these awards, and many congratulations once again.
    I wish I could go walking with you…think we’d have a lot of fun and giggles and think of all those photos we would take 🙂

      Thank you. I was hoping my first link would just show up automatically but try as I could I couldn’t get it too sit on the page. For slide shows go to media, choose the photos you want in it,choose create gallery left hand side, hit create gallery create a new gallery right hand bottom corner, Go to gallery settings right hand side, link to (choose none), type (choose slideshow), insert gallery. Done. I’d love to go walking with you too Sherri. I agreewe’d probably be non stop talking, laughing and yes lots and lots of photos. 🙂

    Irene, I know this is going to sound strange but it is true. Thank you for NOT making me one of the bloggers for this award. I loved doing the ones I’ve gotten in the past but I truly don’t want any more of them.

    You definitely should be recognized for influencing others with your blog. Yours has been so versatile. When I see the title, Reflections and Nightmares in my inbox, I know that I want to see what you have for me that day.

      Glynis, I totally understand how you feel. I knew you were snowed under awhile back when I nominated you for something and that was the reason I didn’t nominate you this time. I’m glad you are enjoying my blog and look forward to your visits. I am trying to work out how this twitter thing works and am following you there but I’m never sure what I am supposed to do.
