Dawn breaks softly
Awakening from Sleep
The setting sun
is not so quietly gone
Fiery, golds and pinks
Did it have a bad day?
No.
Just leaving memories
that aren’t so quickly gone.

I’m glad you enjoyed them. You can tell I’m not often up for dawn but sunsets I love.

A beautiful gentle poem with spectacular images. Mother Nature sure knows how to put on a show.

Thanks Miriam. Yes you can’t get more spectacular than that which nature can display.

Your poem gives me the (good) shivers. And your photos are beautiful. I shall try to return later to look at them again.

I like this one. I don’t like a lot of the verses posted on blogs because most are done badly but this was nice. I particularly like the use of the phrase “breaks softly” because it’s a contradiction in terms that works so well here. Thank you for all the photos, too. Lovely.

Thanks Corina and for giving me that feedback. I had focused on the light of dawn as opposed to the light of sunset and I hadn’t thought of the contradiction in terms but you are right. Thank you for pointing it out and really glad you enjoyed it.
