How to pick – I love skies, the Noosa River, nature, my family and so much more. Every picture means something – if only to me. Thank you for looking and sharing 2017 with me. My joys and stresses, my environment and my blogging life. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and that the New Year brings everything you wish for and for the world, peace and understanding that we are all people sharing the same desires and dreams.

About Irene Waters 19 Writer Memoirist
I began my working career as a reluctant potato peeler whilst waiting to commence my training as a student nurse. On completion I worked mainly in intensive care/coronary care; finishing my hospital career as clinical nurse educator in intensive care. A life changing period as a resort owner/manager on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu was followed by recovery time as a farmer at Bucca Wauka. Having discovered I was no farmer and vowing never again to own an animal bigger than myself I took on the Barrington General Store. Here we also ran a five star restaurant. Working the shop of a day 7am - 6pm followed by the restaurant until late was surprisingly more stressful than Tanna. On the sale we decided to retire and renovate our house with the help of a builder friend. Now believing we knew everything about building we set to constructing our own house. Just finished a coal mine decided to set up in our backyard. Definitely time to retire we moved to Queensland. I had been writing a manuscript for some time. In the desire to complete this I enrolled in a post grad certificate in creative Industries which I completed 2013. I followed this by doing a Master of Arts by research graduating in 2017. Now I live to write and write to live.
What a spectacular year beneath Noosa skies! Love seeing the Lake Superior rocks on your rock countertop! Cheers to 2018!

My favorite sky is #3 which threatens breakthrough from Other Realms.
And I enjoy all your personal favs, most especially the laid back kangaroo.

That sky was something else. All that day I was treated to a sky worth photographing and this was the last change it made.
There was a whole bunch of the kangaroos – miserable day, no-one much playing so they went to the 1st tee outside the club house. Sweet grass they didn’t normally get to munch on.
Have a lovely Christmas. Cheers Irene

That contraption was amazing. You peddalled it like a bike and it went around and up and down.
Diane I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Wonderful collection of photos. I’m partial to sky shots. I especially like how the ocean and sky blend into one another in picture #4.

It was a spectacular sky that day and I just knew I was going to get wet but I had to photograph it coming.

Love them all, but you know the clouds always win for me. Happy Holidays, Irene.

Clouds win for me also Sharon. Especially now we are in storm season. They excite, thrill and terrify all at the same time.
