Paula has given us another five words to play with. They are:
confined, jazzy, patulous, momentous and serene.

Confined – giving birth to another whilst last years joey seems reluctant to give up the pouch for the new arrival.

Confined, restrained by a fence so tall – do they jump that high?

or perhaps they hope that it may stop this jazzy fellow from choosing to join them in their confinement.

A moments posing beneath the patulous tree

whilst a momentous moment perhaps occurs for all three.

These two are so serene that they don’t seem to care that there is any other activity.

About Irene Waters 19 Writer Memoirist
I began my working career as a reluctant potato peeler whilst waiting to commence my training as a student nurse. On completion I worked mainly in intensive care/coronary care; finishing my hospital career as clinical nurse educator in intensive care. A life changing period as a resort owner/manager on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu was followed by recovery time as a farmer at Bucca Wauka. Having discovered I was no farmer and vowing never again to own an animal bigger than myself I took on the Barrington General Store. Here we also ran a five star restaurant. Working the shop of a day 7am - 6pm followed by the restaurant until late was surprisingly more stressful than Tanna. On the sale we decided to retire and renovate our house with the help of a builder friend. Now believing we knew everything about building we set to constructing our own house. Just finished a coal mine decided to set up in our backyard. Definitely time to retire we moved to Queensland. I had been writing a manuscript for some time. In the desire to complete this I enrolled in a post grad certificate in creative Industries which I completed 2013. I followed this by doing a Master of Arts by research graduating in 2017. Now I live to write and write to live.
I had to look up patulous to discover that your photo is perfect – as are all the others. Love Australia’s wildlife. The expression on that roo at the end – priceless.

Again, I am amazed at how quick you were able to respond, Irene. The series you presented is both entertaining and clever. Your peacock shot is amazing! Thank you for joining this challenge. I am so glad to see that you are having fun with it, cause I am having tons of fun coming up with it 🙂

Yes I look forward to your words. I am amazed that a couple of entries managed to use one photo for all words. I think we are all having fun with it. This post started off with a pregnant woman being confined but I couldn’t invade my friend’s privacy at such a beautiful time so it went to my dog’s confinement and in looking for those photos came across this little wildlife park which fitted the bill for all.

I didn’t know a pouch could hold two! Love the contented look of the final photo. Joeys must be grown!

The kangaroo gives birth to something that still looks like a foetus and it crawls into the pouch and attaches to the nipple where it. Last years joey, now fully developed and physically capable is allowed to stay in the pouch until the tiny one is much bigger.
