Such an elegance to this shot. What variety of tree is this?

It is a gum tree which is a type of Eucalyptus. We call them widow makers as they often drop a branch or two and a number of farmers have been caught (as have others). I am wary after windy weather.

Interesting! Loggers call the dead top of a pine tree a widow maker, too. They tend to snap when a tree is felled.

Ours get termites and although the tree is basically healthy a limb will snap off without warning. I guess potentially all trees are widow makers. 😥

Perhaps an interesting phrase to follow in industries. I’ve seen it applied to tools in hardrock mining, too.
