“What’s ya doin’?” John ruffled his grandson’s head.
“I’m doing feats.” Jason barely glanced up from his game.
“Whatya mean?”
“I’m acquiring feats. If I meet the prerequisite for the feat then I can work at gaining it.”
“I’ve no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Dungeons and Dragons Pa. Don’t you know anything.”
“Yep. I know in my day Feats were Little Feat. Dixie Chicken just brilliant but then the big feat, Feats Don’t fail me now was a mind boggling feat. Every one of the band was showcased at his best. Yep. Those sure were feats to remember.”

About Irene Waters 19 Writer Memoirist
I began my working career as a reluctant potato peeler whilst waiting to commence my training as a student nurse. On completion I worked mainly in intensive care/coronary care; finishing my hospital career as clinical nurse educator in intensive care. A life changing period as a resort owner/manager on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu was followed by recovery time as a farmer at Bucca Wauka. Having discovered I was no farmer and vowing never again to own an animal bigger than myself I took on the Barrington General Store. Here we also ran a five star restaurant. Working the shop of a day 7am - 6pm followed by the restaurant until late was surprisingly more stressful than Tanna. On the sale we decided to retire and renovate our house with the help of a builder friend. Now believing we knew everything about building we set to constructing our own house. Just finished a coal mine decided to set up in our backyard. Definitely time to retire we moved to Queensland. I had been writing a manuscript for some time. In the desire to complete this I enrolled in a post grad certificate in creative Industries which I completed 2013. I followed this by doing a Master of Arts by research graduating in 2017. Now I live to write and write to live.
Each to his own feat according to his generation.
Speaking of feat – how are yours? Healing, I mean – feet, of course.

My feet are progressing well. I don’t know when I will again be able to wear shoes. I have tried but simply can’t get them on as feet are too swollen. Hopefully that will go down. Now I just want to get moving.

Ha, ha! I’ve missed your humorous style, Irene! So good to have you back writing a flash fiction feat! I played D&D once with my eldest and her husband (just last May) and took my feats just as seriously. And I’m wishing you feats of healing with your feet! There comes a point where patience lags behind the time it takes to heal.

Glad to be back. Yes the patience is beginning to wear thin and the next three weeks already looks like a long road to not walk.

I am not sure what generational hole I fell into. I haven’t ever played D & D but I am not familiar with the other feats either :-0 But like the others, love the juxtaposition!
