Yes and no. Technically it is a siphonophore made up of 4 different colonies which are dependent on each other for survival.But you don’t want to know all that. Also known as Portuguese Man of War and the sting is not pleasant.

These aren’t the lethal variety that you get further north but their sting still packs a punch so I’m glad I didn’t encounter them in the water also.

I didn’t know there were different varieties, the waters around us are never really warm so we don’t get any of the vicious Jellyfish.
