Gorgeous! I love it when the king parrots come to visit. 🙂

This is your backyard birdie? We’ve got crows and pigeons. Right now a couple of peregrine falcon pairs are making pretty sounds and sights when we can see them, but they don’t stay long. But parrots? Gotta go to the zoo. You do know you live in a magical place, right?

Are these wild?

Yes they are. Australia has some wonderful parrots and in rural areas they co-exist with humans. There is one parrot though, the white cockatoo, that if it gets used to having food at a spot and then you stop giving it to them they will proceed to eat your house, or at least the timber parts of it.

I remember the white cockatoos from a visit some years ago, noisy blighters. The king parrots are so pretty.

Your memory is certainly right as they are very annoyingly noisy. The king parrots are beautiful, the green and red contrasting so well.
