Travelling one always sees the unexpected such as this red bridge in Hanoi.

Sometimes you travel by car. I was so proud of that red car – my first new car – I couldn’t stop driving and went everywhere. This time to Canberra.

I often camped but didn’t often see a sight such as these red tents.

Even Zac when travelling has a bright red lead.

Red fireworks just to finish off.

About Irene Waters 19 Writer Memoirist
I began my working career as a reluctant potato peeler whilst waiting to commence my training as a student nurse. On completion I worked mainly in intensive care/coronary care; finishing my hospital career as clinical nurse educator in intensive care. A life changing period as a resort owner/manager on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu was followed by recovery time as a farmer at Bucca Wauka. Having discovered I was no farmer and vowing never again to own an animal bigger than myself I took on the Barrington General Store. Here we also ran a five star restaurant. Working the shop of a day 7am - 6pm followed by the restaurant until late was surprisingly more stressful than Tanna. On the sale we decided to retire and renovate our house with the help of a builder friend. Now believing we knew everything about building we set to constructing our own house. Just finished a coal mine decided to set up in our backyard. Definitely time to retire we moved to Queensland. I had been writing a manuscript for some time. In the desire to complete this I enrolled in a post grad certificate in creative Industries which I completed 2013. I followed this by doing a Master of Arts by research graduating in 2017. Now I live to write and write to live.
The first photo is gorgeous – I love the reflection. It makes the bridge look like a stick insect!

I love that red bridge and what a great looking car!!

I loved them both. I couldn’t stand the car now though as it didn’t have air conditioning. I thought that was an unnecessary luxury at the time. Now I think it is essential.

We always travel in red — it’s the only color of vehicle we have owned (well, up until the Blue Goose, but we sold her). What kind of tents are those red ones? They look like standing room only!

I think they wrote a song about it “Lady in Red”. LOL Some kind of two man version of a bell tent I think. Quite amusing as you could either stand or lie. I hadn’t seen them before or since.

The red bridge looks like it’s striding across the river.

Amazing bridge, looks like something of Memoirs of a Geisha and those tents are unusual. Always something to surprise me here Irene, love it 🙂

I love that bridge. Bridges probably have similar characteristics throughout Asia. The tents are just strange. An attempt at two man bell tents I think. We used to have bell tents when I was in Girl Guides but ours slept 10.
