I began my working career as a reluctant potato peeler whilst waiting to commence my training as a student nurse. On completion I worked mainly in intensive care/coronary care; finishing my hospital career as clinical nurse educator in intensive care. A life changing period as a resort owner/manager on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu was followed by recovery time as a farmer at Bucca Wauka. Having discovered I was no farmer and vowing never again to own an animal bigger than myself I took on the Barrington General Store. Here we also ran a five star restaurant. Working the shop of a day 7am - 6pm followed by the restaurant until late was surprisingly more stressful than Tanna. On the sale we decided to retire and renovate our house with the help of a builder friend. Now believing we knew everything about building we set to constructing our own house. Just finished a coal mine decided to set up in our backyard. Definitely time to retire we moved to Queensland. I had been writing a manuscript for some time. In the desire to complete this I enrolled in a post grad certificate in creative Industries which I completed 2013. I followed this by doing a Master of Arts by research graduating in 2017. Now I live to write and write to live.

Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge: In the River
Slightly offshore on the Noosa river sits the boat house. It floats on a giant pontoon which are attached to land via a jetty. One day, when a cyclone comes I’m sure we’ll see the Boat House break its moorings … Continue reading
Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge: Funghi and butterflys
With the overnight rain we have been lucky to have (as it means we have perfect days) the funghi are popping up all over the place. Yellow and red seems to be the in colour this year. With butterflys showing … Continue reading
Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge: Retro Zabe
A new coffee shop has opened in town with an ambience to appeal to the young and those that enjoy a trip of nostalgia down memory lane. I hankered after a princess when I was a school kid. All my … Continue reading
Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge: Bathroom snaps
These days when you visit the bathroom, no matter where you are you are greeted with gleaming white porcelain toilets and wash basins. There are liquid soap dispensers so that hands don’t go where hands have been before them. The … Continue reading
Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge: Three Odd Ball Pairs
(6 photos) Walking down the road I saw a sight I possibly have never seen before. and still it continued. I don’t know whether these were a mistake as I don’t remember taking them. Sometimes I practice taking macros using … Continue reading
Cee’s Odd Ball Photo: A question mark
(4 photos) I found these on the kitchen bench the other day. I had no idea what they were. They appeared to me to be disjointed bird legs. I was unimpressed. Bundy is certainly a dog who by nature retrieves … Continue reading
Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge: River antics and a curved horizon
I’d seen a go-pro camera with its underwater casing and I deeply craved to have one of my own. Not to be. Instead Aldi came to the rescue with their own $49 version and these are some of my first … Continue reading
Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge: The boys in their underpants
Gone are Zac’s debonair wolf-like looks and Bundy’s hippy locks. Coiffed and pampered returning with Christmas scarves. Zac asked for his to be removed immediately. Bad enough, he intimated, to be seen in public almost naked let alone wearing a Christmas … Continue reading
Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge: Harbourfront Wellington
I loved the contrast of the bright yellow painted tie up point, the timber and the rust. Parts seemed so well cared for whilst others appeared to suffer neglect. I didn’t understand at first what a free ambulance was or … Continue reading
Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge: The passenger
A sideways glance I gave the car that passed me as I drove A double take It made me make Was this by chance a yellow avotar? With camera ready I aimed and shot this yellow avotar I had … Continue reading
