This is an entrance gate to one of the buildings in the Royal Palace complex in Phnom Penh. The intricate lace work gate looked so delicate yet I have no doubt that it was successful in keeping either people out or people in.

Stunning! My wife is a big fan of gateways, doors and windows, always snapping photos of them wherever we go. She loved this!

Gorgeous. I have always loved gateways and doors. They seem magical. Maybe because when I was a child, I imagined them as portals to another world. 🙂

Thanks.I agree Sarah. We live in an area where there are a lot of walled gardens (in fact we are behind one) and I love the glimpses into those other worlds. So many stories I fabricate from those little snippets and when I enter my own I can relax and feel as though the world doesn’t impinge on my peaceful haven.

So delicate and beautiful in appearance – looks can be so deceiving, can’t they? It reminds me of the art of Scherenschnitt. I’ve been gone for a month and I’m just getting caught up. I nominated you for the Most Influential Blogger Award! You are so deserving of this award that recognizes beautiful writing! Congratulations!
