This is my best photo of the week. Why? Because I love the light reflecting from within the cloud. I like the starless black sky and I like that it is centred in the middle of the frame. It was taken on an iPhone 4s using HDR. I took a whole series as the moon made its way across the sky and I like this one the best.

I began my working career as a reluctant potato peeler whilst waiting to commence my training as a student nurse. On completion I worked mainly in intensive care/coronary care; finishing my hospital career as clinical nurse educator in intensive care. A life changing period as a resort owner/manager on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu was followed by recovery time as a farmer at Bucca Wauka. Having discovered I was no farmer and vowing never again to own an animal bigger than myself I took on the Barrington General Store. Here we also ran a five star restaurant. Working the shop of a day 7am - 6pm followed by the restaurant until late was surprisingly more stressful than Tanna. On the sale we decided to retire and renovate our house with the help of a builder friend. Now believing we knew everything about building we set to constructing our own house. Just finished a coal mine decided to set up in our backyard. Definitely time to retire we moved to Queensland. I had been writing a manuscript for some time. In the desire to complete this I enrolled in a post grad certificate in creative Industries which I completed 2013. I followed this by doing a Master of Arts by research graduating in 2017. Now I live to write and write to live.

it looks like a glowing blue eye! 🙂
It does too.
That’s what I thought when I saw the sky through the window.
That’s an amazing picture. Love it!
It’s so exciting to discover you’ve taken a fabulous shot like this!! excellent work!
Yes, I was thrilled that the photo came out because it was a fantastic sky with a full moon quickly moving across it.
Now this is a way cool shot!!! Excellent!
Thank you so much.
This looks so mysterious and in some way makes me think of the X-men movies! Go figure 😛 Love and thank you for joining. I miss my iPhone 4s which I lost in a couple of weeks ago. It’s a great camera phone 🙂
I know what you mean. I’m just learning my phone camera from other blogging photographers. I’m impressed with what it can do.Hope you find yours. Cheers Irene

I find it so hard to get good night shots with my iPhone. You did a great job. I think the moonlight coming through the clouds is really cool. It give great dimension.
Thanks. I used the HDR setting and it seems to work a treat. It was also a full moon, or very close to it, so there was a lot of light from it.
