Great to see you. Come on in and have a cup of coffee or tea if you’d prefer. We have cold drinks also. We had a thunderstorm last night at 3.30am that I thought would wake the dead. It didn’t as my brother slept right through it. The storm was directly overhead and the thunder and lightning were simultaneous – loud and light. The rain came after it had moved on as though the crying had started when the anger subsided.
My anger is getting huge at both our internet service and my computer. Our internet drops out frequently which is annoying when you are part way through a phone call that has taken you an hour to be connected to the person you are speaking and preventing a quick looking up of items on the internet. Since I have loaded mojave onto my mac it has hit a real go slow. Something that used to taketake fifteen minutes now takes a couple of hours as the entire screen freezes whilst waiting the the little ball to stop spinning. So frustrating.
I took Muffin and Marley to visit Santa. We did a very long walk before arriving and both were more than happy to recline on the lounge and rest their legs before the very long walk they knew they had before arriving back at home.

Marley’s ex owners came to visit that afternoon unexpectedly. They thought Marley was a different dog because he was so calm and laid back. Marley had obviously not forgotten the girl and he sat at her feet very happy to be back in her company. I imagined that he was quite depressed for the next day or so that she had again left him but that could have been my paranoid imaginings.
It is lovely having my brother here for Christmas and it has made Mum’s day. I will feel as though I am on holidays for the short time he is here. We wandered down to the park at the bottom of our street for the annual Christmas Flotilla. Those with waterfront homes decorate their boats and do a parade around the canals. Those without a boat gather on land at the various parks and bridges to cheer them on. A fair amount of drinking is carried out on both land and water and the further into the parade the more raucous the crowds become. Sweets and other items are thrown from the boats to the children on land and a lot of fun is had by one and all. Even Muffin and Marley enjoyed it but perhaps pouncing on the toads on the way home was more fun for them.

The big excitement for me this week was having the first Amazon review of my book Nightmare in Paradise posted. Hopefully more will follow.

This will be the last coffee share before Christmas holidays and whatever you believe, where ever you are I wish you all the joys of the season and a very safe holiday. It is hard to believe that the next coffee share will see us at the last weekend of the year. It has gone so quickly and so much has happened.

It is stories like yours that further reinforces my decision not to upgrade to mojave. Seems like more of a downgrade to me. It sounds like you will have a wonderful holiday with family – enjoy. Wonderful book review. I may join this coffee share at some point 🙂

I am regretting my decision to do so. For me it is definitely a downgrade. I am cleaning up my files (which was way overdue) and if it doensn’t improve then I will have to take it to a repair person and get them to put it back to the older version.
Would love to have you join the coffee share. We can celebrate successes or bask in the mundane or grieve the downs, get good tips on things to eat, read or do – depending on each person’s interests and as with any social event – the more the merrier. Hope your Christmas is looking bright. I know this year I will enjoy mine. Have a very Happy Christmas.

Merry Christmas Irene! I’m in the middle of 2 series of books, both really good in different ways. Stephen King’s Dark Tower series (think Wild West Fantasy) and Craig Alanson’s Expeditionary Force (military sci-fi with humor!). I recommend them both! No films lately but the wife wants to see Aquaman tomorrow. Maybe it’ll be good.

I love the Santa photo with Muffin and Marley. I also love how their names flow so nicely together. Dogs are so special they way their individual personalities fit into families and the things that they clearly remember. Our puppy, Maddi, has been real good with the Christmas tree this year and I am excited to see how she does with the Christmas present we have to put under for her for Christmas.

Maddi sounds like she has grown up a little. I wouldn’t risk putting anythign under the tree for mine until soon before opening. They can sniff out a toy at 100 paces. Hope you have a lovely holiday season.

Was that the same storm that dropped a bunch of hail or was there another nasty Australian storm this week? The dogs look happy with Santa. Glad your visit with your brother is going well, Have a great week! Happy Holidays!

We have had so many in the last couple of weeks I’m no longer sure. We have been lucky though where we are – we have missed the worst of it.Have a Happy Christmas also Trent.

The one storm made international news. Another blogger posted some pictures of the hail.

Yes somewhere they had hail the size of tennis balls. You wouldn’t want to get clonked on the head with one of them. I remember being caught in a hail storm when riding my motor bike and although the hail was only tiny it sure hit the head hard.

I haven’t been caught out in anything much larger than a pea. It can be very damaging.

It’s wonderful that you and your brother can be together during the holidays. My brother and his family live half way across the country and it’s been many years since we’ve been together at Christmas. My sisters and I do try and call during the craziness of the day to wish him a Merry Christmas. Cute photos of your pups and congrats on the review! Happy Holidays.
