Welcome to a warm, windy Noosaville morning. Our normal coffee stop is closed for the day so we were forced to drink elsewhere but now coffee is ready for serving at our house if you care to drop in. You’ll be welcomed by all of us, including our four legged family members.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you that it is coming to the end of BILS and SILS Australian stay. Two months has gone so quickly and it has been so much fun having them as they looked after themselves most days riding to the beach or to the river, up the hill to the Civic or catching the bus to the beaches to the south. They were perfect guests considering my preoccupation with getting my work done. We also did some trips and I always enjoy these. We had our last Friday lunch with them at Alexandra Headland at a place where I always feel as though I too am on holiday.

We then put BILS and SILS on the walking track to Mooloolabah along the beach and we drove and parked my Mum on a park bench in the shade and walked back and met them half way. The weather was perfect for a wander but possibly still too hot for those used to German temperatures.

Last night we went to a play ‘Australia Day’. It was very funny and full of social messages that had impact because of the brilliant way they were presented. It made me think this morning of the impact of Harriet Beecher Stowe and Harper Lee. The overarching message however was that we are all the same and a line by the son of a Vietnamese boat person was that it is not what is said but how you deal with it that matters. I have always felt that this is very true. The company is touring regional Australia with the play and if it comes to a theatre near you I really would highly recommend it.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you that Muffin had her first hair cut this week. She no longer looks like a puppy but an adolescent. When I picked her up from the groomer she looked like a toy dog that should be wound up.

I hardly recognised her but later at home and then today after our morning walk she was unmistakeably Muffin.

Bundy is doing well on his new medecines and we are cautiously hopeful that this will continue.
Contributions to Times Past are still being taken with a new prompt due out on the 1st March.

Brilliant menu! 😂 Alexandra Headland looks gorgeous. Holiday, indeed. That beach is so amazing though. We have nothing even close to that here. Enjoy the rest of your time with family and furchildren. ❤️

Thanks for the comment on my husband pace maker. His cardiologist is the best one in the area.My Mother had one also. The last two months with your visitors sounds great. Grooming is important for our furfriends. Muffin looks like a cute dog.

She is a sweet dog although a real tomdog. It is so important that you have confidence in your surgeon so it sounds like you have a good man for the job.

We are now in Autumn but I have a feeling your season changes around the 21st of the month but spring is not far off for you. and you’ll see daffodils which we don’t get here.

What a wonderful week, Irene – love all your photos and captions. Would love to try everything on the menu, but what is a cobb loaf? Is that a typical Australian restaurant menu? So many items unfamiliar to me – I have to get down there and see and taste for myself. And Muffin is indeed a teenager – after her groom session when she was so pretty, she got herself into something muddy and now needs another bath – silly Muffin. Love the WASGIJ puzzle – we’ll have to get one for our family to do over here. A great week, and I’m looking forward to hearing about your thesis and program final. Will it be published for us to read?

That would be great if you could. It isn’t a typical menu as far as the names go but certainly the made up items are not uncommon. We have some great food as I’m sure you do also and I probably wouldn’t recognise half of your ingredients , although the world is getting smaller as far as that is concerned. Muffin is a real tomdog but as a teenager she occasionally likes to look like a girl. Your family would love the puzzle. Make sure if you get one that it is from the if you had eyes in the back of your head series. The others are fun but this series is totally unexpected as to what you are going to create and the detail is so funny. Whoever designs them have a great sense of humour. It will be published but whether it will be easily accessible I don’t know. I’ll have to see what I can do and perhaps what I am allowed to do. Thanks Sharon.
