Hi. Come on in. Today all that is on offer is cold drinks, unless you come very early in the morning when I’ll offer you a coffee. It is hot, dripping hot. BILL and SILS are melting. I think they are thinking that Germany at -9 centigrade would be preferable to our 32.5 which when you add in the humidity is the equivalent of 38.9 centigrade (102.2 Farenheit) so its cold only today.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you that I have been mainly absent from the blogosphere this week as I really have had to put my head down working from 5am until 10pm with breaks for walking the dogs and eating. I have 20 pages of editing left to go and am hopeful I will hand it to my supervisor for her perusal sometime during the coming week, although if I come across some difficult sections (pages 50 -60 took me over two weekss) it may take longer. But I am hopeful.
If we were having coffee I’d tell youI always take Friday off as this is my Mother’s day. We always go out for lunch and with BILL and SILS with us we are driving further afield to show them a bit of the countryside. This week we went to Cotton Tree and had lunch at the Boat house, a delightful restaurant on the mouth of the Maroochy River. The setting was idyllic and the food was excellent.
A brief walk along the beach watching the storm brew behind us then home before it hit.

Since I started having my cool drinks this morning the weather is now much cooler. Coffee is back on the menu. We’ve had over 110 mm rain and no sign of it letting up. BILL and SILS haven’t seen anything like it and our claps of thunder have them somewhat scared.
I have only done a weekly smile, thanks Trent for hosting and the weekly photo challenge. Again I will probably be absent most of the week as I finish my work off. I will however be posting my next prompt for Times Past. I am planning that I will do this on the 2nd of February as it is the second prompt. I hope that again you will give me your remembrances and we can see both the differences between generations and locations. There could also be a gender difference with this next one…. but Time will tell.
So what has your week been like? Weather hot or cold? Anyway, I’d better get back to my revisions. Thanks for coming and keeping me company for a bit and giving me a break. Look forward to catching up with you soon.

Yes it is much cooler now we’ve had a bit of rain. SILS has been watching the tennis and told me that the roof only had to go on once so I thought you may have been having lovely weather. Hope you have a good week Miriam.

I am editing my exegesis so it is all stuff like finding page numbers where I forgot to put them in (and I thought I’d been so careful) and finding scholarly works to back up or justify what I have said (that takes forever when you thought you had an original thought and your supervisor puts a note give references. Takes hours of searching the library and then reading the papers. Luckily everything is online so I can work in the wee hours of morning and night.
I’m enjoying having coffee so it is one post I am going to not miss as it is nice to catch up with you and everyone else over a cuppa. When I get this done I’m looking forward to coming and visiting you.

Nice post, Irene. I felt like I was right there with you. The food made me salivate. I share your pain because I am on Chapter 12 of a 25 chapter heavy duty rewrite, which MUST be done by the end of February. Good on you to take breaks – I need to remind myself not to sit all day. Good luck!

Good luck with yours Noelle. Nice to share the pain. I get no choice as far as the breaks are concerned – if I didn’t walk them I’d have to take a break to clean up the pooch piddle and the doggy dunits.

February seems like the worst cold here, but statistically it is warmer (and sunnier) than January. It’s just that we’re sick of winter by the time it rolls around! There has to be someplace in the world where February is the best time to visit!

Wet and wild and then lovely here, as storm Gertrude hits with whatever was left over from the battering America took last week. Snow in Scotland and 100plus mph winds there but soggy as an over ripe possum here today. Good luck with the revision

Thanks Geoff. Sounds like you have some wild weather happening. At least our winds are warm and pleasant relief. Now an over ripe possum is something I’ve never seen. The mind boggles.

20 pages. Excellent. Keep up hope and positive attitude (says the hypocrite). Wow. That. Is. Hot.
Our weather is weird. It’s been warm for winter. Last year we broke the record of snowfall with around 113 inches. This year…not much. We’ve only had two-three “real” snowfalls but last weekend was pretty bad with wind and wet, heavy snow. We lucked out and only got about 8-10 inches. Parts of east coast US got smooshed. But it’s back to warm again (of course, New England “warm” is 40 degrees Fahrenheit).
Looking forward to your Times Past. Last one was fun reading. I never got around to writing one properly but left something in your comments.

Your temperatures are virtually the same as ours only our are Centigrade yours farenheight. The weather everywhere is quite peculiar or perhaps with 24 hour news we just hear more about it as they have to fill in the time somehow. Repetition works for the main part but occasionally they have to put something new.
Glad you enjoyed reading them. So did I. A new one will be out Feb 2nd.

I’m editing and revising, too, and found it is a lot harder than I anticipated! I’m learning a lot, so my next draft might not be so rough. I must check out your Times Past post. Sounds like something I might be interested in. All the best for 2016, Irene.

Good luck with your editing and revising. What are you doing? I always think the writing is the easy part, the editing is the hard part. If I ever get to a marketing part I’m sure I’ll find that hard also.
Glad to see you made it to Times Past, Christine. I’m finding the stories great fun to read and although only small in number have come up with results I was not expecting. Next prompt Feb 2nd.

Lots of tea over here as well, but an otherwise uninspired and dull week.
No words about Bundy or Muffin – I’m sad. But I love the footprints on the sand under the cloudy sky. I could run with that! 😀

I’ve taken some photos today ready for next week’s coffee of Muffin. She is becoming quite spoilt so I felt it would do her the world of good not to be the centre of attention for one week. Bundy refused to be photographed as he has a slight eye problem and isn’t looking his best but will allow it in the next few days as the drops are working.
Glad you can run with that Sharon. I can guarantee you’ll enjoy the feeling.

Evidently the Inland Pacific Northwest is sharing weather with our New England region. Sarah’s response is similar to our weather — warm, no real big dumps of snow and further south of us the west got hit with snow storms. I prefer cold to hot as it’s easier to warm up than cool down. Scrumptious lunch! Can I skip the drinks and share shrimp with you this week? 20 pages to go! Yay!

I’m the opposite — I’d prefer to be hot to cold and even though it was warmer today I still found the pool to cold to get in. Yes its getting there.
