Undulating – applies to hills more than anything else I thought and so I found undulating hills. The last perhaps being too steep to undulate in the true sense of the word – smooth, wave-like motion. So can the sea with its waves moving in a definite smooth wave motion also be classified as undulating – ups and downs, peaks and valleys. I decide that it can.

So perhaps ripples on a pond or river also work as they too have ups and downs, a wave-like motion.

Music too has wave like motion, ups and downs, highs and lows and I have certainly heard the expression “she undulated to the music”. I remember at a dear friends 60th birthday a number of us were undulating to the music. Moving in a wave like motion.

I began my working career as a reluctant potato peeler whilst waiting to commence my training as a student nurse. On completion I worked mainly in intensive care/coronary care; finishing my hospital career as clinical nurse educator in intensive care. A life changing period as a resort owner/manager on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu was followed by recovery time as a farmer at Bucca Wauka. Having discovered I was no farmer and vowing never again to own an animal bigger than myself I took on the Barrington General Store. Here we also ran a five star restaurant. Working the shop of a day 7am - 6pm followed by the restaurant until late was surprisingly more stressful than Tanna. On the sale we decided to retire and renovate our house with the help of a builder friend. Now believing we knew everything about building we set to constructing our own house. Just finished a coal mine decided to set up in our backyard. Definitely time to retire we moved to Queensland. I had been writing a manuscript for some time. In the desire to complete this I enrolled in a post grad certificate in creative Industries which I completed 2013. I followed this by doing a Master of Arts by research graduating in 2017. Now I live to write and write to live.

I agree totally. I was a day late with killing my friends. My husband was the one to get stung (I think they knew I wasn’t going to hurt them). In a lot of pain, he did the job for me and now all but three wasps are dead. Those three are still tending to their nest and I should spray them but………….

Honestly, I know where you’re coming from, Irene. But I’m still glad your husband is around to do the dirty deed: wasps aren’t people-lovers. He will probably get rid of the remaining trio …?

Thanks Dysu. It was funny all the young people were huddled round the bonfire and we were alone in the tent undulating to keep warm and having a great time. Sorry I have been so long in my reply as I somehow missed seeing that you had commented. Cheers IW
